Why I am running
Reflecting back, the path to the decision to serve is rooted in my early life experiences. My parents instilled in me a strong work ethic. It was this work ethic that paved the way for me to begin my own business allowing me to sustain a family. My family and my business were both born and raised in House District 48. I have always had a passion for giving back to the community that has given so much to me. However, it wasn’t until a few years ago, when Linda and I were blessed with our first grand-daughter that I was motivated to do more. I realized just how important it is to expand and grow educational and employment opportunities for the next generation of Hoosiers.
For the past few decades we have witnessed the cycle of our children and grandchildren growing up and leaving Indiana for better opportunities elsewhere. Governor Pence and Republican leaders in the Indiana General Assembly have done amazing work in moving our state forward in recent years but if we don’t continue to move Indiana from good to great, I am afraid that my children and grandchildren won’t have the ability to put down roots in our great state. This race is personal for me.
I will continue on the precedent I have set, looking for ways to make government more efficient and user friendly; supporting education, supporting the upgrade of infrastructure and making sure Hoosier’s are safe!
